Leaves, grass and other yard waste in paper yard waste bags are composted at the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility and will be used in future landscape projects. Composting yard waste will help reduce the amount of waste going into the landfill thus extending the life of the landfill for residents and users.
There is no charge for commercial/ municipal users for yard waste in paper yard waste bags brought to the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility. Commercial users will still need to cross the scales and check in with the scale house attendant.
Composting reduces the impact of climate change, and returns much needed carbon back to the earth which supports the growing of plants.
