Learn more about the materials accepted for recycling.
The Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) accepts recyclables from commercial and municipal waste haulers. There are many benefits when recyclable material is delivered to the MRF to be recycled into new products, rather than the landfill where it will no longer have any use.
One important factor to ensuring materials are recycled into new products that the end product is of good quality. Since our MRF became operational in 2009 the contamination rate (ie. unrecyclables/garbage in with recycling) has been between 3% and 5% – this is the lowest recycling contamination rate in the country and makes our recyclables sought after in the marketplace.
Our low contamination rate has established a reliable reputation for our recyclable material which means we are able to sell/move products without having to stockpile before finding a market.
